The practice of mindfulness has been shown to exert a powerful influence on one’s health, mental balance and happiness. Developed and inspired by the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D (author of Full Catastrophe Living), MBSR offers practical, scientifically supported teachings, to reduce stress, facilitate relaxation, and promote physical health and emotional well-being.
This course is for those new to mindfulness awareness, as well as for those who have
studied with me before as a way to refresh your practice. Mindfulness training is intended for individuals who are generally healthy, and who would like to learn to manage their stress more skilfully.

PLUS THIS OPPORTUNITY...
As part of this course, you have the additional opportunity to participate in an independent research study. The study is being conducted by Dr. Clifford Saron and his colleagues at the Center for Mind and Brain at the University of California, Davis. They are investigating the effects of mindfulness-based training on reactions to social and emotional scenes and situations, and on interpersonal experiences in daily life.
If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete 3 assessments and would be compensated up to $230 USD for your time. The 3 assessments would be completed from your own home and would take place the week before your course begins, the week after your course ends, and 8 weeks after your course ends. Participation in this research is entirely optional and is not part of the training you will receive in your MBSR course. IMPORTANT: To participate in this research study, you must fully enroll in your class at least four days before the official class start date.

ORIENTATION: THURS SEPT 19th, 7:00-8:15PM ​​​
(You choose what day suits you to attend in the week. All times in EST.
TUESDAY EVENINGS: Starting SEPT 24, 6:30- 9:00PM
WEDNESDAYS AFTERNOONS: Starting SEPT 25th, 2:00- 4:30PM
THURSDAY EVENINGS: Starting SEPT 26, 7:00-9:30PM
'ALL-DAY’ RETREAT: SAT. NOV 2nd, 9:00AM -3:30PM.
Almost 30 hours of instruction in this course. Small class size.

TEACHER'S NOTE
Currently, there are a wide-range of mindfulness-based programs that have developed out of the basic structure and format of MBSR. I applaud these adaptations and experiments, as there are many doors into ‘mindfulness’. I teach the original MBSR course as developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. My teaching adheres to a high level of structure and standards, without such adherence, the veracity of MBSR would be diminished and the scientific results increasingly suspect. You will learn how this secular, scientific, evidence-based practice has become an accepted part of mainstream medicine, and discover how it can positively affect the quality of your everyday life.
